It may be "old fashioned" but it works pretty well for me and my family. I look after my daughter at home and my husband goes out to work. It's fine by me. It lightens the load of having a family. Also, seeing my daughter all the time really helps us bond as I've got to see all her firsts so far, which I'd have missed out on if we'd got a babysitter in. I don't think it's demeaning for me to stay at home looking after my miracle of a daughter, in fact it's the best decision I could have ever made. I cherish every minute I spend with her.

Somehow society makes being a full time mother something of an embarrassment, and it's not right. That's partly feminists at fault there, but times are changing from even 20 years ago. Back then, women thought they had something to prove and be a working mum, but these days more women are going back to traditional roles of staying at home with their kids, because there's a difference. We as women now have the choice to work, and have the choice to do everything men can do, and this time we're making the choice to stay at home, rather than it be forced on us. And actually, most of us quite like it this way.
I would rather wait until my youngest child starts nursery at 3 to start working than to give up this precious time I've got now. I wouldn't even think about having someone else look after my daughter at least until she's old enough for nursery. What, and miss out on seeing her take her first step, her first words? Absolutely never.

Hello again.

It's been a very cold November so far. I'm usually not one to feel the cold either! Summer's only just passed and I find myself longing for warmer weather. On the plus side, it gives an excuse to drink more cups of tea!

The husband has been working night shifts, so we've got a bit more money in our pockets thanks to all the bonus money he's getting. Couldn't come at a better time either, as we're starting to buy Christmas presents! I've been taking my daughter to the toy shops to pick out some toys for her presents. Already bought one big present for her that she picked out herself, and will be taking her out again a few more times in the coming weeks.

We will be spending Christmas and the new year in the UK to see friends and family, which I'm very excited about. If we've got time, I'll take Hannah to Hamley's before Christmas day to get her another present, if not we can still go there afterwards for a special present for her. It'll be a lot of fun taking her round London, to see Santa and so on. I'm really looking forward!
Also, we'll be at my grandmother's for new year, which really means a lot to me because I miss her a lot. It's also the 5th anniversary of my grandad's death so it means a lot that she has people around her, especially as its such a big milestone. I'm going to go visit his grave hopefully with family members. I don't know what to expect. I haven't been to his grave since his funeral, I don't know how I'll react. It's such a milestone, 5 whole years! I remember blogging about it all here. I might dig out the old blog post to have a read of them.

On lighter news, I found out I'm having my second child. Hooray. I'm 12 weeks pregnant so far. I don't plan on having any more after this though. I'm looking forward to my two littles ones playing together. They'll be close in age, I hope they get on well.
